U.S. Attorney General slams 5G plan, says NATO should take controlling interest in Nokia, Ericsson
This is big. And not in a good way.
U.S. Attorney General William Bar blasted the Trump Administration’s new 5G plan as “unworkable” and instead said the U.S. and its allies should “neutralize” a threat of Huawei's next-generation equipment by taking a controlling stake in Nokia or Ericsson.
The response so far is varying degrees of WTAF.
(Update 2/14:) Cisco CEO ruled out approach for Nokia or Ericsson in comments to the Financial Times even as the U.S. government issued an indictment against Huawei for racketeering and stealing trade secrets.
